JoOn SwitOn, a guitarist with a unique signature sound, grew up between Africa and France, deeply influenced by a strong musical culture from an early age. After discovering Dire Straits and picking up the guitar, he developed his style by exploring blues, jazz fusion, and rap. As a teenager, he started his first band in Paris and performed regularly. His career took off when he was selected by The Roots for the European “BlackLily” project, which gave him the opportunity to play alongside renowned artists like Les Nubians and Common.
In 2006, JoOn became musical director for Corneille and collaborated with various artists, including La Fouine and Ayo. Following a U.S. tour with Les Nubians, he moved to London in 2018 and released the album The Voodoo Children. Since then, he has continued to broaden his horizons, touring worldwide with artists like Alex Clare, Meghan McKenna, and Pheelz. Known for his talent, JoOn is now a leading guitarist, especially on the gospel scene.
